5 Seriously Cool Companies Helping to Save Our Oceans and Beaches
Ocean conservation and cleanup may seem like a daunting task, but these companies are proving that a little goes a long way, and that everybody can have a hand in saving oceans and marine life. Take a look at our list of five companies that are doing really amazing things to help save our oceans!
Dawn Dish Soap
This company has donated thousands of bottles to the Marine Mammal Center and the International Bird Rescue for over 40 years! They have helped in creating several videos to support the rescue of wildlife, especially ones that are affected by oil spills. They also Dawn’s partners use their dish soap to clean animals after oil spills, and Dawn helps support rehabilitation and research programs within these organizations.

These two surfers made big splashes when they created a company that would sell t-shirts and bracelets to support the cleaning of trash and plastic from beaches. Today, the company guarantees that every purchase funds the removal of one pound of trash from oceans and beaches. Bracelets are made from recycled and sustainably sources materials, and each different purchase also supports an organization helping in that area of conservation. Want to help save the Everglades? Samurda Skin & Sea
This skin care line prides themselves on being “Ocean First”. They support several legislative policies defending Californian coast lines, they work with The Marine Mammal Center, and they collaborated with 5 Gyres on consumer action campaigns that promote a plastic free lifestyle. Their products are sustainably sources and as plastic-free as possible, including their packaging.
Sand Cloud
This company’s mission is to #savethefishies and they do so by donating 10% of profits towards marine conservation. They collaborate with and donate to several organizations working to save oceans and marine life. They also sustainably source all their products and packaging. Their products include recylced plastic bottles, recycled t-shirts, and jewelry and accesories made from sustainably sourced materials.

This cleaning company has always used recycled plastic for bottling their product, but recently they took it a step further. They created the world’s first bottle made with ocean plastic! Their new formula combines recovered ocean plastic and post-consumer recycled plastic, and so far has collected over one ton of plastic from Hawai’i and turned it into new bottles for their 2-in-1 hand and dish soap formula. They are also known for their easy refill bags which they created in an effort to cut down on one-time plastic purchases. Instead, consumers can keep the pretty bottle and refill it as many times as they want!
