How to Stay Sane During Quarantine
To say the least, it has been a crazy few weeks that we’ve all been experiencing. Due to the COVID-19 virus, we’ve all been put into quarantine to not only protect ourselves but to protect others that are at high risk. Most of us have never experienced something like this before so it can definitely be a very scary time. We’ve compiled a list of things to do keep your self sane during this time!
WORKOUT
Now more than ever it is so important to move your body and exercise! As we all probably know, working out can do amazing things for your body but it also has a great impact on your mind and mental health! It can have a huge positive impact on depression, ADHD anxiety, and more. Regularly exercising also relives stress, helps you sleep better, boosts overall mood and even improves memory
MEDITATE
Right now can be a super stressful time. We all may be going a little stir-crazy. However, if we cannot go outside, go within. Now is a great time to practice self-cafe, personal development and even getting more in tune with our higher selves. Meditating eliminates negative thoughts, worries, anxiety, and anything that is preventing us from achieving happiness. It also retrains the mind and helps develop more of a positive mindset, allowing us to have a more positive look on our lives.
STOP OBSESSING OVER THE NEWS
There is so much information and panic coming from the media about what is going on the world. Although this is a very serious issue and the coronavirus cannot be taken lightly. We all need a break, and thats okay! Turn off the news, unplug from social media and do some of the other tasks on this list to refocus, re-energize and to remain sane!
GET SOME FRESH AIR
While your taking a break from the news, now is a perfect time to go out for a walk or a run. We are still allowed to go outside, as long as its not in large groups or in a crowded area. Take a morning and/or nightly stroll everyday. Go for a run, sit outside on your lawn when its nice. Being cooped up inside is not healthy, and its completely safe to go outside, even if its just for a few minutes!
READ A BOOK
Let’s face it, we all have ton of books laying around that we bought thinking we would read them, but never got passed the first few pages. Now is a perfect time to sit down, cuddle up on the couch and read one of those books. If you happen to not have any or read all of them already, Amazon offers audible books and are still shipping, if you wanted a paperback version!
START SOMETHING NEW THAT YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO
Remember that time that you had a brilliant idea for a business? Never finished that online course you purchased? Always wanted to learn a new skill on youtube? What better time to start!! Now is the time to start something you’ve always dreamed about doing. You have all the time in the world to focus on learning a new skill, starting a new business, etc! Life usually gets in the way and we are always saying “I wish I had the time.” Now you do! Do not just sit home and waste away watching Netflix, use this time to better yourself and do something amazing!
VIRTUAL EVENTS
Probably one of the most painful things about this quarantine is not being able to see or interact with loved ones! This time can be a tad bit lonely. But you can easily get creative! There are so many virtual video chat options that allow you to virtually hang out with friends and family! Zoom, Google Hangout, FaceTime are all great options. Stay in contact and check in with everyone!
This is undoubtedly a rough time for a lot of people. However, we need to make the best of it. These tips will help you stay sane while in quarantine. Stay healthy and safe!
